Flattr

OK, starting today I'm trying Flattr. Flattr seems to be the latest and greatest internet idea. I only know about it since yesterday when Kamih sent me an invite (check out Kamih's music!). On the top of this blog I have this button now that looks like this:

If you happen to have a Flattr account already, you know what it's all about. You can do something for your good karma and leave something in the tip jar. If not, you might wanna watch this little video that explains it all:

good thing. but flattr is already on the beta-state and i wate for my invite key. do you have invite keys? if so, it would be a good idea to offer your readers to invite them.....

I had three invites and shared them on Twitter. I'll send you one once I have a new one.

This may seem unrelated (and apologies if it's an FAQ), but have you considered a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial license for your work? It seems to be just making explicit your current terms and giving them a familiar brand.

The connection with flattr is that the two could go together. CC makes it easy for people to share (by making the terms clear, easy to recognise through branding and well understood); and flattr makes the sharing pay back.

True, Creative Commons is basically what it is. Because I didn't have the chance yet (or let's say interest) to read everything that defines CC, I wrote out in two sentences what I mean. This way it also becomes immediately clear to someone who doesn't know CC. What I have in mind is a CC-BY-NC-license, and I wouldn't mind SA either as long as it is not offending the subjects of my images.

thanks. would be happy if you could integrate the flattr-button to your feed....

Good point. It would have to be part of each post then, right?

yes. There is a plugin for wordpress to integrate it in a single post and one for the feed. think that there is one for blogger, too!? Hehe...feel free to try it out on my blog :D
