A loong time ago I promised someone to take a picture that would look like the painting you see below. Last night when I was walking some New York City streets I passed by this spot and remembered my overdue assignment. This girl happened to pass by, willing to pose for a few minutes.

AMAZING! How did you do that?
I had the original picture on my phone and tried to set up the camera accordingly. As you can see, I couldn't match it completely. Then comes some processing. The main steps were some HDR, the adjustments of the tones, and levels adjustments for the burned out highlights.
Did you apply some painterly effect?
Oh I forgot: I also used a brush stroke filter to get it a little closer to the look of a painting. There are many more things one could do to get it closer, but I like it in its current state.
